An event for the history books: The 2024 New England Morgan Show

The historic Northampton fairgrounds did not disappoint.

We took just 6 horses—five to show and one to sell—and accomplished our goals with each one during the 85th New England Morgan Horse Show, July 22-27, 2024.

Fire Run Fahrenheit made his show ring debut with Suzanne Haberek in the irons and won the Limit Park Saddle class in good company for our good clients, Fire Run Farm, Kurt & Teri Rumens in Snohomish, WA. Suzanne flew out from Washington to make this good ride and we couldn’t be happier.

Kim Swartz and her High Style Stable boys had an incredible show from start to finish. The talented 3YO stallion Extreme Sensation won his 3YO Park Saddle qualifier and went on to Reserve Champion 3YO Park Saddle with Austin Hazelwood in the irons. The flashy Daisy’s Captain Cruiser was a crowd favorite, winning the 4YO Park Harness qualifier in a deep, well filled class, then coming back to conquer the Junior Park Harness Championship. Austin also piloted this talented youngster to these two wins.

Kim also got in on the fun, having a picture perfect drive to win the Ladies Park Harness with Cherrydale Casablanca, then donning her sparkly black dress to take on all comers in the East Coast Open Park Harness Championship. This is a beautiful team and we are so thrilled to be part of their success!

Making her show ring debut at New England was Anne Puffer’s beautiful Dreaming Music, who got her feet wet in the Ladies Pleasure Driving with Melissa Morrell, who then handed her off to Austin Hazelwood to drive to victory in the East Coast Open Pleasure Driving Championship. This lovely and well bred mare is available for purchase!

Finally, CWMS Energizer came along for the ride and Mary Brown and her trainer/agent Kurt Hufferd liked what they saw, so we went home with one less horse! Kurt and Mary are now in the running for our 2024 Sunrise Sales Incentive Program.
